![]() Members of Betabound get early and exclusive beta opportunities. This info is accurate and has been tested as of: 8th August 2021. ![]() It takes about 5 minutes to join and is completely free. We put all our opportunities up on social media as well, if you'd rather follow us there. The Beta Test is a 2021 dark comedy thriller film written and directed by Jim Cummings and PJ McCabe. We also make it really easy to share opportunities with your friends.GeorgeV here. It follows a talent agent whose life is turned upside-down after taking part in a secret sex pact Cummings and McCabe star alongside Virginia Newcomb and Jessie Barr. Today I’m going to talk about a small change (still in testing) that we’ve done due to some experiences at i49.īasically the demo at the booth went pretty smoothly except for one detail. Towards the beginning of the game some players would get a bit confused. The first thing you’re supposed to do when you get on the ship is read the quest that you’re being offered. It ideally would direct you to the ship’s locker where all of your gear is. However, apparently the ship locker wasn’t obvious enough and many players simply beamed straight down to the planet without gear and without knowing what to do. Some players simply didn’t know where the ship’s locker is or what the different objects on the ship were leading to stuff like beaming down on accident. The good news though is once they got past that bump in the road generally everyone was easily able to play and have a good time. So us booth people would only need to check up on new players to make sure they didn’t get confused and beam down to the planet too early. So we’ve thought up a few ways to address this issue. It makes me look forward to the Beta Testing even more! One step is simply labeling! Yeah, the text is a bit… texty but when it comes to playability maybe easier is better? The booth at i49 was practically a first Beta test as we discovered several things us Devs overlooked. Hopefully now it’ll be painfully obvious what everything on the ship is. It looks like a giant sandbox of rolling disasters, and it’s out now on Steam. And it’s been brought up that it might be TOO texty and obvious so who knows, maybe we’ll change it. ![]() Maybe they’ll forget about the corpses piling up thanks to faulty life support. People walking around in a fog of sadness? Pop a motivational poster on the wall to inspire them. Decorations will play a role in morale, too. You’d better create back-up systems to ensure any blackouts don’t last. You’re in charge of all the infrastructure and decorations, prepping for everyday usage and potential disasters. Even things outside your control, like pirates and aliens. But there are always difficulties in space survival. They might not like it, it might even drive them to murder. You can meet the basic needs of water and food by simply feeding the same meal three times a day. Contentment is merely a side-effect of survival. The people will mutter and grumble if things aren’t comfortable, and will all-out mutiny if you start to eject any quarrelsome elements among them. Every game is different-your station and colonists will be unique to you.” ![]() According to the devs: “Some colonists prefer eating nutrition bricks on the toilet, while others like to drink and socialize in the bar. With Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress as inspirations, managing your vat-grown crew of humans is as important as putting the doors on the right way and connecting all the power systems. The station grows people and places stored personalities into new bodies, which means you have a large supply of disposable souls. ![]()
